Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 20, 2026 · Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy covers the MIA Dialer web app and API, the Mia AI voice and SMS assistant, and MIA’s messaging and reporting tools (together, the Service).
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Global Connect LLC ("we", "us") operates MIA, a cloud contact-center platform. Businesses ("Customers") use it to call and message their leads, and their staff ("Agents" and admins) log in to work those calls.
We handle personal data in two roles:
| Data | Our role | Who decides how it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Customer and Agent account data (logins, billing, usage) | Controller | Us |
| Lead and contact data a Customer uploads, and the calls, recordings, transcripts and messages with those people | Processor / service provider | The Customer |
If we called or texted you on behalf of a business, that business is responsible for your data. Section 7 explains how to opt out and how to reach them through us.
This policy does not cover third-party sites or services that connect to MIA, such as a Customer’s CRM.
2. Information we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account and identity | Name, username, email, password (stored securely, never in plain text), role, company, assigned phone numbers, calling credentials | Customer admins, Agents |
| Billing | Company name, credit balance, top-up history, license and trial dates. Card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us | Customer, our payment processor |
| Lead and contact data | Names, phone numbers, addresses, city and ZIP, service or job type, appointment dates, notes, tags, campaign and list membership | Uploaded by the Customer, imported from its other business tools, or sent through our API |
| Call metadata | Numbers dialed and calling, caller ID used, start and end time, duration, outcome, disposition, the Agent who handled it, answering-machine results | Generated by the Service |
| Call audio | Call recordings, live audio processed for voicemail detection and by the AI voice assistant, live supervisor listening | Generated by the Service |
| Transcripts and AI output | Transcripts, AI call notes and summaries, AI usage records | Generated by the Service and its AI providers |
| Messages | SMS and WhatsApp messages sent and received, opt-out (STOP) requests, delivery status | Customers, Agents, and the people they message |
| Do-not-call data | Numbers on a Customer’s internal do-not-call list | Customers, opt-out requests |
| Agent activity | Login times, presence and status (Ready, on a call, paused), pause reasons, performance metrics | Generated by the Service |
| Device and technical | IP address, browser type, audio device choice, connection data, error logs | Agents’ browsers |
| Integration credentials | Credentials for third-party services a Customer connects, stored encrypted | Customer admins |
Browser storage. The web app keeps some settings and recent call history in your browser’s local storage (layout, filters, theme, recent dials). This stays on your device. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers in the app.
3. How we use information
We use personal data only to run, secure and improve the Service and to meet legal duties. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (where GDPR-style laws apply) |
|---|---|---|
| Place, route, connect and record calls; send messages | Lead data, call metadata, audio, messages | Performance of our contract with the Customer |
| Run Agent accounts, presence and supervision | Account data, Agent activity | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Detect voicemail and call screeners so Agents only get live answers | Live call audio | Customer’s instructions; legitimate interests |
| AI voice and SMS assistant ("Mia"), AI call notes and summaries | Call audio, transcripts, messages, lead notes | Customer’s instructions |
| Honor do-not-call lists, opt-outs, calling hours and city filters | Phone numbers, DNC lists, campaign settings | Legal obligation; Customer’s instructions |
| Bill credits and enforce licenses | Billing and usage data | Contract |
| Reports and performance dashboards | Call metadata, dispositions, appointments | Customer’s instructions |
| Security, fraud prevention, debugging | Logs, IP addresses, technical data | Legitimate interests; legal obligation |
| Measure and improve the Service (e.g. voicemail detector accuracy) | Call outcomes and detection results | Legitimate interests |
Automated processing. MIA makes some decisions by machine, such as hanging up on a detected answering machine or call screener, or letting the AI assistant answer an inbound text. None of these decisions has a legal or similarly significant effect on the person called. A Customer’s staff can review any call or message.
AI training. We do not use Customer call audio, transcripts or messages to train our own or third-party general-purpose AI models. Our AI providers process this data only to return results to us, under their business terms.
4. Call recording, AI voice and telemarketing
Recording. Calls handled through MIA are recorded by default, from the moment the person answers. Supervisors may also listen to calls live, coach the Agent, or join the call. Recordings are stored privately and are only reachable through secure, time-limited links.
Several U.S. states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Washington, require every party’s consent to record. Customers must give a recording notice at the start of each call, or turn recording off, wherever the law requires it.
Recording is on by default. Customers must configure or provide any recording notice the law requires, or turn recording off (MIA Terms of Service §3.3).
AI voice assistant. On campaigns that use it, Mia, an AI voice assistant, may speak with the people being called. By default it greets the person without saying it is an AI, never claims to be human, and confirms it is an AI if asked. Customers must configure it to disclose that it is an AI at the start of each call (MIA Terms of Service §3.4). Under the FCC’s 2024 ruling, an AI-generated voice counts as an “artificial voice” under the TCPA. That means such calls need the called person’s prior express consent, and prior express written consent for telemarketing to a cell phone.
Do-not-call and opt-out. MIA keeps each Customer’s internal do-not-call list and checks it before dialing. A text reply of STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, PARAR, ALTO or BAJA records an opt-out, stops automated messages, and the AI assistant does not answer it. Campaigns can limit calls to set calling hours and to set cities.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal data only with the types of service providers below, under contracts that limit them to providing their service to us. We also share it when a Customer tells us to (for example, an integration it connects), when the law requires it, and in a merger or sale of our business, subject to this policy.
| Type of provider | What they do | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Telecommunications carriers | Phone numbers, routing and connecting calls, SMS and WhatsApp messaging | Phone numbers, call audio, messages, call metadata |
| Cloud hosting and storage | Running the Service, databases, recording storage, logins | All categories |
| AI service providers | AI voice assistant, transcription, call notes, SMS replies | Call audio, transcripts, messages, lead notes |
| Payment processor | Payments and credit top-ups | Billing data |
| Integrations the Customer connects | Syncing with the Customer’s own business tools and reports | The data the Customer chooses to sync |
A current list of our service providers is available to Customers on request at privacy@miadial.com.
International transfers. We store and process data in the United States. Our staff and Customers’ Agents may work from other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards for these transfers.
6. Retention and security
Retention. We keep Customer Data while the Customer’s account is active. Call recordings and transcripts are kept for the life of the account, with no automatic deletion. We delete or anonymize it in our live systems, and instruct our providers to delete their copies, by these deadlines: within 90 days after an account closes, and within 45 days of a verified deletion request (30 days where the GDPR applies), the same period as in Section 7. We do not edit backups; copies in them are deleted as the backups expire on their normal rotation. If we ever restore a backup, we first re-apply every deletion completed since that backup was made, using our deletion log, before the restored data is used again. We keep only what the law requires for longer, as the table shows.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Call recordings and transcripts | Life of the account, with no automatic deletion. Deleted within 90 days after the account closes, or within 45 days of a verified deletion request (30 days where the GDPR applies) |
| Call logs and dispositions | Life of the account + 90 days |
| Do-not-call and opt-out records | At least 5 years, to prove compliance |
| Billing records | 7 years, for tax and accounting |
| Security logs | 12 months |
| Live presence data | Minutes; it expires on its own |
Security. Our safeguards include:
- Encryption in transit for web traffic and calls
- Recordings in private storage, reached only through secure, time-limited links
- Third-party credentials encrypted at rest
- Role-based access, with each company’s data kept separate
- Verification of incoming notifications from our service providers
- Service credentials kept only on our servers, never in the browser
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify the affected Customers without undue delay, and within 72 hours where the law requires it. Customers are responsible for notifying their own contacts where the law puts that duty on them.
7. Your rights and choices
Stop calls and texts. If a business called or texted you through MIA:
- Reply STOP to any text, or tell the Agent or the AI assistant on the call that you don’t want more calls.
- Or email privacy@miadial.com with your phone number. We will add it to that business’s do-not-call list within 10 business days and pass your request on to the business.
Privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, other U.S. states with privacy laws, or the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have the right to:
| Right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Know and access | Learn what personal data we hold about you and get a copy |
| Correct | Fix inaccurate data |
| Delete | Have your data deleted, subject to legal exceptions (we keep your number on do-not-call lists so you aren’t called again) |
| Portability | Receive your data in a usable format |
| Opt out | Of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. We do none of these. |
| Limit sensitive data | We do not use sensitive personal data to infer characteristics about you |
| Object or restrict | Object to processing based on legitimate interests (GDPR) |
| Non-discrimination | We won’t treat you differently for using these rights |
Send requests to privacy@miadial.com. We will verify your identity by matching the phone number or email we hold, and answer within 45 days (30 days under the GDPR). If we hold your data for a Customer, we will forward the request to that Customer and help it respond. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a denial by replying to our decision. EU/UK residents can also complain to their local data protection authority.
Children. The Service is for businesses. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes. We will post updates here with a new effective date. For material changes, we will notify Customers by email or in the app at least 30 days in advance.
